This Japanese style kyusu is unique because it has a removable stainless basket instead of an installed sieve like traditional Japanese Kyusus. The large basket has a “fine” sieve and is good for brewing any type of tea. Teapot has a glaze outside while the inside is unglazed.

Ai Kyusu: 14oz / 6.3"D (including a handle) X 3.5"H
Pottery: Tokoname, one of the Six Old Kilns of Japan, has been a pottery center since the 12th century and is especially famous for its unglazed pottery.

I had just broken 2 teapots and was searching for the perfect replacement when the newsletter alerted me to this teapot. It checked off all of my wishes...1. a larger capacity even though only for my own use as I do like to linger over my tea. 2...unglazed inside for better flavour . 3...a basket insert that can be removed so you can keep the tea from over brewing. 4/5/6/7...a basket that was fine mesh, that is replaceable, well made and staimless steel. 8...affordable . 9.. beauty!!!. 10...room for the tea to stretch out. 11.. a spout that doesn't drip. I have been using it for about a week so I can heartily recommend it. Also, the basket has a number stamped into it so that the size and type can be ordered from Den's if ever needed, which I doubt it will be. Thank you Den's for offering the perfect tea pot!
