10TH ANNIVERSARY GIFT FINAL
VERY RARE SHIZUOKA BLACK TEA
|2010 was our 10th year of serving the North American Tea Market. To celebrate this occasion and to show our appreciation for your love of Japanese green tea, we have had several gifts for you during the year.
The fourth and final gift is "Black Tea made in Shizuoka". We selected this rare black tea to add another tea experience to your tea time. We hope that Den's Tea will be still your leading source for quality tea as well as an unbiased source of information on Japanese tea and tea culture for the next 10 years.
As you may know, 99% of the current tea production in Japan is green tea. However, about 130 years ago Japan tried to produce and export black tea as a government policy.
Tea scholar, Mr. Tada (1829-1896), was sent to China and India to acquire black tea manufacturing skills in 1875.
Upon his return, he established a tea farm at Mariko in Shizuoka and since then, Mariko has been a mecca for Japanese black tea. However, black tea never did become a major industry in Japan as some peopled had hoped.
One tea farmer in Mariko, Mr. Matsumura, has been manufacturing black tea since the 1950's as well as growing high quality green tea. Our parent company, Shirakata-Denshiro Shoten, has done business with Mr. Matsumura for a long time. Mr. Matsumura even created the manufacturing machine for black tea and is considered the father of modern black tea production in Shizuoka. His tea is made with the tea species "Beni Fuki". The cup is mild with very little bitterness and is highly aromatic. Its flavor is different from the black teas made in major Asian and African producing countries.
As a gift to you, we will include a small bag of Shizuoka Black Tea when you order $30 or more (excluding S&H) of Den's Tea products. Don't miss this opportunity to add the taste of this rare tea to your life experiences.
This anniversary gift will be available to you through December 31st or until our supply is exhausted.

Award Winning Premium Gyokuro
|As we announced on January, this year marks our 10th anniversary of serving the North American Tea Market. To celebrate our anniversary and to show our appreciation for your love of green tea, we have prepared several gifts for you through 2010. The second is “Award Winning Premium Gyokuro”.
This Gyokuro was grown on the Omura farm in Asahina, Shizuoka and was harvested in 2009. The Gyokuro grown on the Omura farm won an award at the last Shizuoka Tea Exhibition. In fact this tea is a frequent award winner at the exhibit.
This Gyokuro is obviously one of the best teas manufactured in Shizuoka. Its taste is quite special and is likely a taste you have not experienced. One sip will enrapture you and you’ll wish that the powerful herbaceous and Umami flavor would remain with you just a little longer.
As a gift to you, we will include a 5 gram bag of Premium Gyokuro when you order $30 or more of (excluding S&H) Den's Tea products. Don’t miss this opportunity to add the taste of this super premium tea to your life experiences. This anniversary gift will be available to you through April 11.
|10th Anniversary Gift No.1 – Lucky Gold Tea|
|To celebrate our anniversary and to show our appreciation for your love of green tea, we have prepared several gifts for you through 2010. The first is "Lucky Gold Tea". In Japan, gold flakes are used on food and in beverages to celebrate special occasions. At these special occasions, you'll see gold flakes sprinkled on top of traditional Japanese food and pastries or floating inside a bottle of sake like a golden snowstorm. Our 10th Anniversary seemed like a good time to add some gold flakes to a cup of Den's Tea.
As a gift to you, we will include "Sho-Fuku-Kin" (5mg gold flakes) and a 10 gram bag of Sencha Extra Green when you order $30 or more (excluding S&H) of Den's Tea products. "Sho-Fuku-Kin" means "gold inviting luck". By adding the flakes to the Sencha you have "Lucky Gold Tea".
The gold flakes and 10 gram bag of Sencha are enough to make about three cups of lucky tea. Sprinkle the ultra thin gold flakes on your cup of green tea and cerebrate Den's Tea 10th Anniversary or any other important occasion this year. Since gold is an inert element, the gold flakes are safe to ingest and will not affect the taste of the tea. The combination of the gold and the tea are mainly for visual impact and Sencha Extra Green is the best tea to show off the gold flakes.
This anniversary gift will be available to you through March 7th.
Enjoy a lucky tea time and have a prosperous year!
|THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!|
|We will celebrate our 10th anniversary this January. The past ten years have been a challenge and a pleasure. The challenge has been introducing Japanese green tea in the North American Tea Market and the pleasure has been working with so many great North American Tea Lovers.
Japanese green tea was not as well recognized and appreciated as I expected when I started business 10 years ago. However, I found that tea drinkers in North America are quick learners and many of them have moved from tea novices to tea fanatics in very few years. As the tea drinkers in our market become more educated, they are looking for high quality products and detailed and accurate information about tea. We pledge to continue offering high quality products and services at reasonable prices and will do our best to keep educating tea novices and to keep tea fanatics loving Japanese green tea for another decade.
Have a Healthy and Fun Green Tea Time!
